Congratulation Joan!

It is with great pleasure that we report the ACS announce that the first PhD of the DOC group, Joan Enrique-Romero has been awarded by a very prestigious prize:
The 2022 ACS Astrochemistry Outstanding Dissertation Award.
His dissertation work, "Surface chemistry of molecules of astrophysical interest: theory and simulations," was performed under co-advisors Prof. Cecilia Ceccarelli (Université Grenoble Alpes) and Prof. Albert Rimola (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) in the ERC DOC framework.

The Publications of Joan Enrique-Romero’s doctoral research include "Theoretical computations on the efficiency of acetaldehyde formation on interstellar icy grains" (Astronomy and Astrophysics), "Reactivity of HCO with CH3 and NH2 on Water Ice Surfaces. A Comprehensive Accurate Quantum Chemistry Study" (ACS Earth and Space Chemistry), and "Quantum Mechanical Simulations of the Radical-Radical Chemistry on Icy Surfaces" (Astrophysical Journal Supplemental Series).
